I love MythBusters. Bill Nye was also really popular with me when I was little.

Well if the 19th and 18th centuries were warmer than the 20th, evidence would suggest that there is not a significant increase in temperture due to industrilization, or that the overall cooling is offseting whatever impact human industiralization has had on the climate.

Taking resources is hardly greedy and evil. The basic drive to survive is justification for many things. Survival of the Fittest. We lose

Stephen Hawking compares intelligent aliens showing up on Earth with Columbus landing in the New World and the aliens would likely rape the Earth of all the natural resources and move on.
Do you think that this is the most likely outcome if aliens ever made here?

Working from home has actually increased my social time. I have sat in a cubicle, worked in a warehouse driving forklifts, sorted mail for USPS and waited tables. The only job where I socialized more was waiting tables. Usual after getting off of work, driving home and winding down, I just don't want to go out. However, after sitting at home all day, I can't wait to get out and hang out with friends and meet new people.
If it is true that people are becoming less social, I would think that there would be other causes. In the past I have devoted a ridiculous amount of time to playing video games. MMORPGs suck up much of the time of many young people. There is a really good documentary on this called "Second Skin." It explains the calling of these online worlds and is really well done.

According to Nasa, http://helios.gsfc.nasa.gov/scycle.html, the "solar maxium," the time when the magnetic field flips is due to occur in 2012. Sun spots and an abundance of Solar Flares are associated with solar maximum's. However, since the polar flips happen every eleven years, I doubt there will be any serious consequence if the sun is late.

Of course antidepresants make you feel better. What they do not do is address the underlying issues that may be the cause of your depression. In my opinion, those on antidepresants should not be dependant on them, and should seek help to attempt to live a happy life without them. Just my two cents though.

With the application of hydroponics, you can grow food anywhere. From what I understand, NASA designs for colonization of the Moon or Mars both call for hydroponic crops to feed to the colonies.

According to Darwin, the species will either adapt or die off. Historical, the species will disappear for a few thousands years then reappear with subtle changes. Take for example the giant bison of North America. The giant bison vanished around 10,000 B.C. as the Earth began to warm and the glaciers began to receede. The plains could no longer support such a large creature. About 3,000 years later, the bison reappeared much smaller and are the buffalo that we know of as today.
Odds are that the giant buffalo barely survived during that 3,000 years and the lack of sufficent nutrients prevented them from growing to such enormous sizes. When the species finally shrank enough to be able to survive again, they reemerged in large numbers once again.
Polar bears are either going to adapt or die off, but to be able to accurately predict which is tough. As it is already small miracle that the largest land predator in the world is able to survive in such a desolate area.
